At Golden Key Art, we offer our students the opportunity to choose exactly what they wish to learn. Our class system is modular, allowing you to choose which medium, techniques, and subject matter you want to focus on. Our most popular categories include:

Painting Classes

The study of acrylic, watercolor, and oil based paints as well as the techniques required to master them. Discover the nuances of color theory and mixing alongside various brush techniques and paint manipulation.

Drawing Classes

Learn how to draw with pencils of various softness and color, as well as charcoal and pastels. Master shading and hatching techniques to give your drawings a new layer of depth and realism.

Printmaking Classes

Discover woodcarving, monotype, linocut, and drypoint techniques as you explore the art of printmaking. Learn carving techniques and work with a set of tools unique to this fantastic medium.

Composition

Technical skills are only one aspect of art. Much of your works beauty relies on how you arrange and balance the elements within your artwork. Learning these skills will enable you to bring out the best in your art for your audience to see.

Portfolio Preparation

Finally, we offer a very special program specialized for students currently enrolled in art programs in Colleges and High Schools. We will work with you to build a portfolio for jobs and internships. This program features a series of classes and projects through which you will learn to master all of the skills required succeed as an artist in today's competitive world. Spaces are limited however, as during this intensive course, we will be working closely with these students to ensure their portfolios will have everything that is looked for by employers.
